  1. Brilliant top 50. Very comprehensive and showing a real range of genres. I have a real soft spot of The Land Before Time as it was one of the first films I remembers seeing in the cinema. Beauty and the Beast is also one of my all-time favourites. Nice to see Ratatouille make the list as it seems to be underrated amongst the Pixar films with Toy Story and Finding Nemo getting most of the plaudits.

    1. Thanks Dan, that means a lot! I'm glad I'm not the only one who connected with The Land Before Time. Beauty and the Beast to me is the ultimate Disney movie. Perfection from start to finish. I have to re-watch Ratatouille to see if it could place higher in future. This list is always changing with each film I watch over again.

  2. I was going to see your blogathon but this post stopped me ;)
I love animation, especially the Japanese ones ... I am so happy to see most of my fav animation is there, tho if this is my list Sen To Chihiro Kamikakushi (spirited away) will be my number one.
I haven't watched millennium actress yet. I will try to find it but I already have The Wolf Children ready to be watched soon.

    1. Spirited Away was my undisputed number one for a very, very, very, very, VERY long time. Grave of the Fireflies touched me more than any other film I'd ever seen, so that's why it placed higher. Millennium Actress on the other hand, is one of the most beautiful, tragic, original, stunning films ever made. I watch it on a regular basis... it just gets to me :) Thanks Novroz!

  3. I question putting "Fantasia" as only an honorable mention, but only because Disney pioneered so many techniques with that film. True, it doesn't hold together very well as far as narrative. Also I wonder if "Yellow Submarine" is among the films you haven't seen. For its synthesis of different styles it surely deserves at least an honorable mention.

    1. I loved Fantasia. I haven't seen it for many years, so it isn't fresh in my mind anymore. When I see it again, it will probably break into the top 50 easily. I haven't seen Yellow Submarine yet, but it's on the top of my watchlist Patrick :)
